Un désert au coeur du monde

A Desert in the Heart of the World traces the mottled trail left behind over nearly a millennium by the Carthusian monks around the Grande Chartreuse monastery in the French Alps. The brief narrative on screen transports the viewer to the heart of a wild and austere natural world where remnants of a past time, still strangely present, are revealed in the turning of the seasons. 
Retaining these memories of a rich history, the land seems suspended like a dream space, a place in which the march of time dissolves, where the existence, the experience of man merges with the forces of nature in the eternal passage of time.

This 4-minute film, presented across nine giant screens, welcomes visitors to the museum space in Voiron (Caves de la Chartreuse).

Breathe is the ebb and flow, the to and fro of the Pacific Ocean as it reveals and conceals, at its own pace, the oddly- shaped coral in New Caledonia.

A mysterious young woman obsessively compiles details of her past. As she walks across Glasgow, pages of her biography - the only form of memory she has - get blown all over town. She has to retrieve them one by one. Her life unfolds metaphorically as she salvages her documents until things seem to go slightly awry.
